Singing + Crafts + Making Friends =

The Perfect Sunday Morning.

“Community Singing & Crafts in the Park” is my favorite part of every month. It’s totally free and open to anyone who wants to participate. We get together, do some singing exercises, learn and sing some of our favorite songs, then make crafts and chat.

We’re for all singing levels, solo singing is totally optional. You don’t need to know anything about music or singing, you could truly just come and shake an egg shaker (or play an instrument). The whole point is to find joy in community and hang out making messy music.

 FAQs

  • Absolutely not. Everyone can sing (even if you don’t believe it), and this is large group singing full of supportive people, so you don’t need to be worried about being self conscious at all.

  • Yes! We welcome all acoustic instruments at the community sing. (Basically any instruments that won’t drown out the un-amplified singing voice). We will provide chord sheets for all of our songs. We also have an extra ukulele and guitar, plenty of egg shakers, and whatever other instruments members bring on a given day.

  • We love having kids and pets. If your kids / pets are happy to engage in song and crafts for and hour we are more than happy to have them.

    There is also a playground right next to the community sing.

  • Not at all. In community sing tradition, we learn songs by ear (but do provide lyrics while we’re learning).

    1. Layers, even if you think you won’t need them! It can be chilly in the morning.

What to Expect

11:00: Group singing exercises while people settle in.

11:15: Names & exercise to meet everyone

11:25: Learn and sing one of our traditional singers circle songs, then a second one based on singer vote (:

11:50: Open floor up to popular song jams

12:15: Crafts open up- people are welcome to hang out and chat / make crafts or collaborate / jam with others
